As Sr. Director of Programming and Development for PBS, Pamela A. Aguilar identifies, develops and oversees the production of original content and acquisitions for Primetime in the genres of science, history, natural history, culture, and independent film. She has overseen such projects as 9 Months That Made You, Food-Delicious Science, Big Pacific, and the Emmy nominated In Defense of Food.
For over fifteen years, prior to joining PBS, Aguilar worked as a writer, producer, director and executive producer creating content across all platforms exploring race relations, education, social justice, pop-culture and health. Some of her credits include, America by the Numbers, The Graduates, Bigger Stronger Faster, and Between Two Plates, a digital satirical bilingual telenovela series she created to promote healthy eating. She’s a member of NALIP’s Diverse Women in Media Advisory Committee, a graduate of The New School University in New York City and hails from the Golden State of California.
