Melanie Wallace is the Senior Series Producer for NOVA, the most highly recognized science documentary series on television in the United States, now approaching its 45th season, In that role, Melanie is connected to all aspects of production and works closely with Senior Executive Producer, Paula Apsell. Together, they search for new talent, innovative program ideas, and new co-production opportunities. Melanie is the driving force behind the deals brokered between NOVA and NOVA's numerous national and international partners such as the CCTV, BBC, ARTE, ABC Australia, and NHK, to mention a few.
Another aspect of Melanie's job is one of ambassador, traveling worldwide to promote the NOVA brand and to raise awareness of NOVA's highly acclaimed, award-winning science programming while highlighting the role NOVA plays to enhance science literacy. She has recently attended and spoken at conferences in London, Vienna, Hong Kong, France, Germany, Brazil, and Greece where she was invited to share NOVA's experiences of using the power of television to excite the general public about science. Additionally, she is called upon to serve as juror for a variety of awards including the News and Documentary Emmys, International Emmys, Duponts, Jackson Hole Wildlife Festival, and the Beijing Science Festival. She has been the recipient of a wide variety of awards including the News and Documentary Emmys, Dupont Columbia, and Peabody awards.
