Karen Greenfield is the Vice President of Production & Business Operations for Nat Geo WILD.  Her responsibilities include managing the Network’s programming budget, ensuring best practices when contracting with WILD’s producers and talent as well as supervising program prioritization and delivery for over 250 hours of programming across 170 territories,  330 million homes and 34 languages.  

With over 20 years of production experience working with the world’s leading filmmakers, Karen leads WILD’s Production Management team, which manages all programming requirements and enforces the Networks’ technical standards across all global media platforms.  Karen continues to expand the company’s reach by leading its on-going global UHD program strategy.

Prior to her current role, Karen managed up to 200 hours and over $60M of award-winning global programming, such as Great Migrations, Explorer, Dog Whisperer with Cesar Milan and 9/11: Where Were You?

Karen joined FOX Television’s America’s Most Wanted in 1995 where she wrote and produced news packages, feature stories and Missing Child Alerts.  She worked with state and national law enforcement agencies, public relations departments, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, victims and FOX affiliates to acquire information for broadcast.  

Karen’s greatest passion is diversity and inclusion.  She most recently became a member of NGP’s Diversity and Inclusion Task Force to ensure proper education, management and inclusion of diverse populations within the workplace.  Karen also mentors college students of color who are entering the corporate workforce.  Karen describes the difference between diversity and inclusion with a Verna Myers, Esq. quote, “Diversity is being invited to the party, but inclusion is being asked to dance.”

Karen is a graduate of University of Maryland, College Park and holds a degree in Broadcast Journalism with a Minor in African American Studies.  She is an active member of Women In Cable Telecommunications and is married with one daughter.
