David Hamlin

Filmmaker & Executive Producer

David Hamlin is a multiple Emmy Award winning filmmaker and Executive Producer.   He’s responsible for 250+ award-winning Specials, Series and Digital/VR assets for the National Geographic Channel, NBC, PBS, Gannett/Google and other broadcasters and NGO’s.
For 17 years, Hamlin was on staff at National Geographic where his work focused on adventure, natural history, science and conservation.  His landmark series, Great Migrations, remains the highest rated natural history program in the history of National Geographic Television.

Recently Hamlin began exploring VR production.  His Dem. Republic of Congo VR project, The Protectors, was co-produced by Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker), National Geographic and Here Be Dragons.  It premiered at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival and was introduced by Hillary Clinton.  Currently Hamlin is the Executive Producer of VRtually There, an unprecedented weekly VR series produced by the USAToday Network and YouTube.  Season One averaged 1 million+ viewers/episode.
